How we function
as a business
TheUnder18World is a mini world where Under18s learn about skills, careers, and themselves by taking on real leadership and execution roles. Through real responsibilities, challenges, and consequences—with only a minimal safety net in exceptional situations—Under18s experience reality more directly than most people their age. TheUnder18World is designed so that U18 leaders handle government, business, revenue generation, customers, partners, failures, and successes.
Every activity, situation, and program in TheUnder18World is a learning experience. U18s pay to participate in programs and activities, while those who lead and organize them contribute by generating revenue for the company. Financial education is an important part of the ecosystem, and U18 leaders are expected to understand every aspect of running a business. To encourage execution and ownership, a small percentage of the revenue generated may be allocated to the organizing team for successfully conducting an event or program.
TheUnder18World does not pay U18 leaders for their work, ideas, or time, as participation itself is designed as a learning experience and part of the ecosystem.
TheUnder18World does not take positions on political, social, or ideological issues, nor does it support movements or causes. We are not an NGO or a student body; we are a private, for-profit company focused on providing skill and career experiences through a simulated world.
Within our ecosystem, the U18 Government, Service Commission, Corporate Division, and other roles perform real work that impacts U18 citizens and schools. Bills passed within the ecosystem are implemented, projects and competitions are real, and any positive impact created is real as well. However, these activities exist primarily for learning, company growth, and revenue generation. Any broader social benefit is a by-product of the process. We therefore request that activists, advocacy groups, and adult-world movements do not approach us for campaigns or causes. We are learning now; we can choose our causes after 18.
How it all started
Kolkata will tell you the story of our original concept. Trivandrum will have stories about our earliest experiments. A few international cities may tell you about the business lessons, while a bunch of iconic schools in remote parts of the country can speak about the research behind this world.
We collaborated with, onboarded, and merged with a few for-profit educational organisations to expand our knowledge and resource base. These founders and leaders have taken mentor roles, supporting U18 leaders only when requested or required.
We realized that practical experience teaches far more than theory alone. When individuals cannot immediately rely on visible support systems, they are more likely to discover their instincts, leadership abilities, and problem-solving skills. Leadership, communication, entrepreneurship, decision-making, and crisis management are best learned through real responsibilities, targets, and consequences.
To make this possible, we built a system where Under18s run most operations with minimal adult intervention. Experienced mentors guide when required, while U22World leaders provide execution support, maintain standards, and help ensure sustainable revenue generation.
Our belief is simple: the best way to prepare U18s for the future is to let them start building it today.
U18s are students aged 18 or below. The support system is a combination of the U22 Team, Corporate Team, mentors, and us. The Corporate Team consists of U18s and others who focus on revenue generation, maintaining company values and reputation. Mentors are founders of educational startups that merged with us and eminent personalities who have agreed to guide TheUnder18World.
Our Founders : The Under-18 World was founded by Ms Devi. The founders along with mentors continue to set and guide the long-term vision of the organization while the day-to-day experiences are led by Under-18 citizens.
