
The U18 Anchor Challenge
Complete these three levels to earn Anchoring Points and unlock your role as a recognized voice in the U18 World.
Level 1: Prepared
Goal: Get comfortable with your "Voice."
• Topic: The Content Creator
• Skills: Using mics & cameras, voice tone (intonation), and news delivery basics, telephonic communication with safety, how to research and reach out to guests.
• Tasks:
1. News Report: Deliver the news from a given script.
2. Viral Reel: Make a 30–60s video with a 3-second "hook" to grab attention on a given topic (50 k views).
3. Onboard a guest for Day 3 of your Anchor Challenge for a podcast.
Level 2: Semi-Prepared
Goal: Learning to react quickly and keep a conversation moving
• Topic: The Dynamic Communicator
• Skills: Logical thinking, staying on topic, and fast-paced editing, listening, Scripting, Understanding the Under18 World
• Tasks:
1. The Clash: Join a debate on both prepared and surprise topics.
2. Live News: Deliver a news video live (no retakes!).
3. Rapid Fire: Interview a vendor and a parent using "This or That" questions.
4. Script writing for your first podcast
Level 3: Unprepared
Goal: Represent the Under18 perspective in the real world with authority and logic.
• Topic: The U18 Ambassador
• Skills: Safety/travel standards, and 5 W-1 H framework for unscripted flow.
• Tasks:
1. Business Deep-Dive: Interview a business owner to find out how they make a profit, their profit percentage and about the business.
2. The Duo (Complete logistics): Anchor a show with a partner—completely unscripted.
3. The Rolling Update: You are given a single sentence of "Breaking News." You must talk for 90 seconds until "further info" arrives.
4. Be a backup for the first podcast with the guest you onboard or Get Approved/Certified with the Anchor Challenge points to ask a few questions in the podcast
