U18 Fellowship

Explore careers your way with the U18 Fellowship! Six months of hands-on projects, mentorship & real-world challenges—no classrooms, just doing. Ready?

The U18 Fellowship is designed for curious teens eager to explore careers through immersive, hands-on experiences. Over six months, you’ll dive into diverse industries—from engineering to filmmaking, medicine to entrepreneurship—while learning to navigate the unpredictability of real-world work. This isn’t a textbook program; it’s a dynamic blend of in-person collaboration, remote teamwork, and live industry challenges.  


Program Structure:  

- Time Commitment: Two full days of in-person sessions/activities per month, plus remote collaboration (flexible hours) and occasional events.  

- Blended Learning: Work alongside mentors and peers online, then apply your skills during in-person sessions, site visits, and special events (e.g., film shoots, startup pitches, U18 podcasts, U18 Assembly sessions).  


Monthly Breakdown:  


Month 1: Entrepreneurship  

- Ideate a startup, pitch to real investors, and learn lean business strategies.  

- In-person: Visit a local incubator; remote: Build a business model canvas.  


Month 2: Engineering & Tech  

- Design prototypes with engineers, code basic apps, and solve real-world tech challenges.  

- In-person: Robotics workshop; remote: Virtual hackathon.  


Month 3: Medicine & Healthcare  

- Shadow professionals, simulate diagnoses, and explore biomedical innovation.  

- In-person: Hospital tour; remote: Case-study discussions.  


Month 4: Movie Making & Creative Arts  

- Script, shoot, and edit a short film with industry pros.  

- In-person: On-set filming day; remote: Editing masterclass.  


Month 5: Emerging Fields (AI, Sustainability, etc.)  

- Dive into cutting-edge sectors through guest lectures and problem-solving sprints.  

- In-person: Green tech lab visit; remote: AI ethics debate.  


Month 6: Capstone Project  

- Team up to solve a cross-industry challenge (e.g., create a health-tech product).  

- Present your work at a public showcase to peers, mentors, and professionals.
